| Physical Description | Nowa is a teenage Dragon-type Gym Leader with a bold, energetic appearance that immediately stands out in a crowd. Standing at around 5'4", she has a slim athletic build shaped by constant training and travel alongside her Pokémon. Despite her smaller stature, she carries herself with confidence and intensity, often giving challengers the feeling that she’s far more dangerous than she first appears. Her most striking feature is her hair — jet black with vivid crimson streaks running through the front and inner layers. She wears it in high twin-tails that bounce with her movements, giving her a lively and slightly rebellious look. Her eyes are large and sharp silver-grey, often narrowed with determination or playful confidence during battle. Nowa’s fashion style mixes classic late-80s sporty streetwear with Dragon-type symbolism. She wears a black and red trainer jacket with Poké Ball insignias and league patches stitched onto the sleeves, usually left open over a tied white shirt that exposes part of her midriff. A dark pleated skirt and black thigh-high socks complete the outfit, balancing sporty practicality with a bold gym-leader image. |

Personality & Traits
| Personality Overview | Nowa Runehart is fiery, competitive, and impossible to ignore once she enters a room. She has the kind of personality that naturally draws attention, whether she means to or not. Loud when excited, sarcastic when annoyed, and fiercely determined during battle, she thrives in high-pressure situations where she can prove herself against strong opponents. At first glance, she comes across as cocky and rebellious. She loves teasing challengers, making bold claims, and acting like nothing can shake her confidence. However, beneath that bravado is someone who takes her responsibilities very seriously. As a Dragon-type Gym Leader, Nowa believes trainers should earn strength through hardship, discipline, and trust with their Pokémon — not simply through raw power. She has little respect for arrogant trainers who mistreat weaker Pokémon or rely entirely on brute force. |
|
| Drive | Nowa’s greatest drive is the need to prove herself worthy of the title she carries. Being one of the youngest Gym Leaders in the region means many people underestimate her at first glance. Some see: - An energetic teenager, - A reckless battler, - Or simply “the dragon girl.” Very few initially see the amount of discipline, sacrifice, and effort behind her strength. Because of this, Nowa developed an intense determination to never appear weak — especially in front of challengers, older trainers, or other Gym Leaders. She pushes herself harder than almost anyone realizes, constantly training both herself and her Pokémon in dangerous terrain and harsh weather to sharpen their instincts. |
|
| Anchor | Family: Nowa’s anchor is her family, especially her mother, Solveig Runehart. Salamence: Her Salamence was raised alongside her from a much younger stage and grew with her through countless failures, injuries, and training accidents. It knows her moods almost instinctively and often reacts before she even speaks. |
|
| Problem | For all her confidence and fiery determination, there is one thing capable of instantly cracking Nowa’s intimidating Dragon-type image apart completely: chocolate. It does not matter whether she is in the middle of training, arguing with someone, or trying to maintain her usual cool and fearless composure. The moment chocolate is involved, her self-control starts falling apart remarkably fast. Hot chocolate on cold winter evenings is her greatest weakness, though she is equally fond of imported candy bars and expensive handmade sweets from larger cities throughout the region. |
|
| Pride | She takes enormous pride in being a Dragon-type trainer, not simply because dragons are powerful, but because she believes they must be earned. To her, Dragon Pokémon are not companions for people seeking easy victories or status. They are stubborn, emotional, difficult creatures that demand patience, resilience, and trust. The fact that she was able to raise and bond with them at such a young age is something she values deeply, even if she rarely admits how much it means to her. | |

| Iconic Item | Nowa’s iconic item is a large insulated travel mug covered in scratches, faded stickers, and chipped paint from years of use. The original design was probably plain black, but over time she covered it with dragon decals, league stickers, and little doodles she drew herself with silver marker. One side has a faded red dragon wrapping around a mountain peak, while another has the words: “Fuel for Dragon Tamers” |
Pokemon 1
| Pokemon Species | Salamance ![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Type(s) | Dragon/Flying | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ability | Intimidate | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gender (if applicable) | Male | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Personality Description | Unlike some Dragon Pokémon that behave wildly or uncontrollably, Salamence is highly disciplined — but only because it chooses to be. There is a fierce pride to it that mirrors Nowa almost perfectly. It dislikes being ordered around by anyone else and has very little patience for trainers who act arrogant or disrespectful toward Pokémon. More than once, Gym assistants have learned the hard way not to approach it too casually. In battle, Salamence becomes relentless. It prefers overwhelming opponents through pressure and aggression, rarely giving enemies room to recover once it gains momentum. Rather than circling cautiously, it often charges directly into combat with explosive speed, roaring loudly enough to shake the battlefield. There is something almost storm-like about the way it fights; fast, loud, and difficult to stop once it fully commits. Despite its intimidating reputation, Salamence is deeply protective of Nowa. It constantly keeps track of where she is during battles and training sessions, sometimes lowering its posture or stepping closer whenever it senses danger or emotional distress. The bond between them is so strong that experienced trainers often notice Salamence reacting to her mood before she even speaks. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Type(s) | Dragon/Normal | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ability | Shed Skin | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gender (if applicable) | Male | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Personality Description | Cyclizar has a personality that perfectly matches the more chaotic and adventurous side of Nowa. Unlike Salamence’s intense and commanding presence, Cyclizar is energetic, restless, and constantly looking for excitement. It hates standing still for long periods and becomes visibly impatient whenever Nowa is stuck indoors handling Gym paperwork or League meetings. Most of the time, it behaves more like an oversized racing partner than a traditional battle Pokémon. It loves speed, sharp turns, and dangerous terrain, often revving its throat sacs excitedly whenever Nowa reaches for her riding gear. The two are infamous throughout the region for tearing through snowy mountain roads far faster than they probably should, usually while Nowa laughs and Cyclizar seems to encourage even worse decisions. It also has a mischievous streak that catches people off guard. Cyclizar enjoys nudging people unexpectedly, stealing hats or scarves, and weaving around challengers purely to show off its agility. Around trainers it trusts, it can become surprisingly playful, lowering itself so children can climb onto its back or trying to imitate the dramatic poses Nowa strikes before Gym battles. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Type(s) | Flying/Dragon | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ability | Infiltrator | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gender (if applicable) | Male | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Personality Description | Noivern has an eerie, intelligent presence that makes many people uneasy the first time they encounter it. Unlike Salamence’s overwhelming aggression or Cyclizar’s energetic chaos, Noivern is quiet and observant, often preferring to watch from the shadows rather than immediately involve itself. It spends long periods hanging upside down from high rafters, cave ceilings, or dark corners of the Gym with its wings wrapped around itself like a cloak, silently tracking everything happening below. What unsettles people most is how aware it always seems to be. Even when its eyes appear closed, Noivern is constantly listening. Small noises, shifting footsteps, changes in breathing — it notices everything. Gym trainers often joke that there is no such thing as sneaking around when Noivern is nearby because somehow it always already knows where you are. Despite its intimidating appearance, it possesses a dry, almost playful sense of humor. It enjoys startling people deliberately, especially newer challengers. More than one trainer has nearly jumped out of their skin after hearing breathing behind them only to turn around and discover Noivern hanging silently overhead staring down at them. The fact that it clearly seems entertained by these reactions only makes it worse. Around Nowa, however, Noivern behaves very differently. It is calmer, quieter, and oddly protective in a much subtler way than Salamence. Where Salamence shields her openly and aggressively, Noivern watches over her from a distance, almost like a silent guardian. It tends to appear whenever she is stressed or emotionally overwhelmed, quietly settling nearby without demanding attention. Sometimes it simply folds its wings around her shoulders or rests beside her while she cools off after difficult battles. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Pokemon Species | Haxorus |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Type(s) | Dragon | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ability | Mold Breaker | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gender (if applicable) | Male | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Personality Description | Haxorus is easily the most intimidating member of Nowa’s team. Where Salamence is fierce and Noivern is unsettling, Haxorus feels outright dangerous. It carries itself with the quiet confidence of a Pokémon that fully understands just how powerful it is, and unlike some dragons that roar or posture constantly, Haxorus rarely wastes energy trying to look threatening. It simply is. Most of the time, it remains silent and still, watching battles unfold with narrowed eyes and an almost unnerving level of patience. Gym trainers often describe the experience of standing near it as feeling like being watched by a predator waiting to decide whether you are worth its attention. Even experienced challengers tend to become nervous once Haxorus enters the field because of how calm it remains compared to the chaos of Nowa’s other Pokémon. Out of all her dragons, Haxorus is arguably the most stubborn. Once it commits to something, changing its mind becomes nearly impossible. If it decides training is not finished, it will continue long after every other Pokémon has exhausted themselves. If it believes someone is threatening Nowa, it becomes immovable, physically placing itself between her and danger without hesitation. |

| Pokemon Species | Dragapult |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Type(s) | Dragon/Ghost | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ability | Clear Body | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gender (if applicable) | Female | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Personality Description | Dragapult is the most emotionally complex member of Nowa’s team and, in many ways, the hardest to truly understand. Unlike the heavier presence of Salamence or Haxorus, she carries herself with an eerie elegance that makes her feel almost ghostlike even outside battle. She moves quietly, appears without warning, and has a habit of watching people from strange angles or hidden perches before deciding whether she wants to interact with them at all. There is an unmistakable intelligence behind her eyes. Dragapult rarely reacts impulsively and seems to constantly observe the emotions and behavior of everyone around her before making decisions. Gym staff often joke that she knows what people are about to do several seconds before they actually do it. Compared to the rest of Nowa’s dragons, she is far calmer and more emotionally controlled, but that calmness can become unnerving very quickly. When annoyed, she does not roar or lash out immediately like Salamence or Haxorus might. Instead, she becomes colder and quieter, silently staring until whoever upset her starts feeling uncomfortable enough to back away on their own. Around Nowa, however, her personality softens considerably. She is extremely protective of her trainer, though in a possessive and subtle way rather than openly aggressive. She dislikes strangers getting too physically close to Nowa and has a habit of quietly inserting herself between them without anyone immediately noticing she moved there. The behavior becomes especially obvious after difficult battles or whenever Nowa is emotionally exhausted. |

| Pokemon Species | Baxcalibur![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Type(s) | Dragon/Ice | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ability | Thermal Exchange | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gender (if applicable) | Male | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Personality Description | Baxcalibur is the quiet giant of Nowa’s team — calm, imposing, and almost unnervingly patient. While Salamence radiates aggression and Haxorus projects raw intimidation, Baxcalibur feels more like a force of nature. It rarely wastes movement, rarely reacts emotionally, and almost never acts without purpose. Simply standing near it gives the impression of immense restrained power, like an avalanche waiting for the wrong sound to set it loose. Out of all her dragons, Baxcalibur is the most emotionally stable. Loud arguments, chaotic battles, or stressful situations barely seem to affect it. Even when surrounded by noise and movement, it remains still and observant, watching everything with a cold, unreadable stare. Gym trainers often admit that its silence is somehow more intimidating than roaring would have been. Despite its fearsome appearance, Baxcalibur is surprisingly gentle outside battle. It moves carefully around smaller Pokémon and younger trainers, almost as if constantly aware of how easily it could hurt something accidentally. During winter months it has become something of a living heater throughout the Gym despite being an Ice-type, because its body radiates a strange dry warmth beneath the freezing exterior. Staff members have repeatedly found smaller Pokémon sleeping against its side during snowstorms while Baxcalibur pretends not to notice. Its relationship with Nowa is built almost entirely on mutual understanding rather than affection. Baxcalibur is not openly cuddly or playful like Cyclizar, nor emotionally expressive like Salamence. Instead, it shows trust through presence. Whenever Nowa is overwhelmed or mentally exhausted, Baxcalibur quietly positions itself nearby without being asked, often sitting beside her in complete silence for long periods of time. |
